Hello, My Blog

A Blog of Self-Complaining Due to Idleness#

2023.8.8#
Preface#

In fact, during the last semester, I had the idea of starting my own review blog after returning home for the summer vacation. But I knew it would be difficult for me to do so. As expected, after returning home, I lost interest in it within three minutes. Until now, I haven't made much progress. Instead, I have become more and more anxious and mentally exhausted. Moreover, I found that my physical condition is not optimistic at all. It is becoming increasingly difficult for me to concentrate. Often, after reading for only a few minutes, I experience a "brain fog" phenomenon, and everything in front of me becomes vague. So I told myself that I can't continue like this. Therefore, on an afternoon with bad weather, I decided to start writing my own blog. I shamelessly named it StudyBlog for now. This is also my first blog post, and I am not very familiar with some of the grammar, so there is room for improvement. But I believe it will get better and better. 😎

A gentleman can be reserved but not weak, and can criticize unfairness when necessary.

It has been three days since I started writing the blog. It does help me calm down and reduce the time I spend watching short videos. I also feel a sense of accomplishment when I look at the content I have written. If I persist for a long time, it should become a habit.

Today, I read some excellent blogs and gained a lot of inspiration. Writing weekly reports should be the long-term goal I need to stick to next. At the same time, I need to continue updating the books "Computer Networks: A Systems Approach" and "Computer Systems: A Programmer's Perspective". I hope to make some progress in the month before school starts.

Today, I also came across some movie recommendations. I suddenly remembered that I used to love watching movies. But because of the limited time on campus, I ended up watching more movie reviews on Bilibili. My time became more fragmented. Since the summer vacation, influenced by short videos, I have rarely been able to concentrate and finish watching videos of about thirty minutes. I have lost some of my focus, but fortunately, I still have the opportunity to change. Regarding the movie "Chang'an Thirty Thousand Miles", although I really want to watch it, it is difficult to find the opportunity at home. Today, I came across an article introducing it, and some of the content is worth quoting:

If you want to write about Li Bai, you can't just write about Li Bai. You need to write about Gao Shi and their friendship, write about Li Linfu's jealousy towards him, write about Du Fu's admiration for him, write about Guo Ziyi's gratitude towards him, and write about Xuanzong's indifference towards him.

I really like looking at Li Bai's life from Gao Shi's perspective:

Du Fu was too young, so he mostly idolized Li Bai.
He Zhizhang was too old, like a great roc with broken wings, unable to bear the weight of the world.
Wang Wei was too cold, although the world was noisy, his passion had long cooled.

Li Bai's life truly reflects Jiang Jie's poem "Listening to the Rain": "As a youth, I listened to the rain on the top floor of the building, with red candles dimming the embroidered curtains..."

But when you first learn that a knife can do more than just create delicious dishes, that magnificent buildings like the Yellow Crane Tower can also collapse, and that bridges like the Twenty-Four Bridges can be pierced by the enemy's soldiers, you realize that even if you win a smile with a thousand gold, it will ultimately be a joke.

The water in the south of the Yangtze River is too gentle; the snow in the north of the Great Wall is too cold.

Gao Shi is lucky. There are too many people who spend their whole lives waiting for that opportunity.

Liu Yong couldn't wait for that opportunity. In poverty and destitution, he was ordered to write poems.
Du Fu couldn't wait for that opportunity. In the thatched cottage in Chengdu, he mourned.
Lu You couldn't wait for that opportunity. In his dream of iron horses and icy rivers, he grew old in Cangzhou.

Gao Shi finally welcomed his opportunity. He sought a good price for his jade in the box, and he waited for the right moment with his spear across his horse's saddle.

Zhao Kueman wears a Hu-style headdress, and the Wu hook shines in the frost and snow. The silver saddle illuminates the white horse, and they rush like shooting stars.
